I practice yoga to feel better in my body + mind. I find joy in teaching yoga. I teach and practice many styles of yoga and there are many that I don't. As my body changes, my teaching changes. I share what feels authentic to me. I love using tools and methods to develop a sustainable yoga practice. Align, misalign, and align again.
Born and raised in Miami, I unknowingly started my yogic path as a pre-med student with a BS in biology. My favorite thing about biology is "functionally knowing how and why things work". After undergrad I took a yoga class and realized med-school was not my next step, rather yoga teacher training. After completing my 200-hour Teacher Training with Paul Toliuszis in Miami Beach, I developed as a strong and confident teacher. I completed my second 200- hour Teacher Training with Dawn Feinberg at Ahana in 2017.
I am currently a masters level student obtaining a dual masters in Mental Health Counseling and Family and Marriage therapy. I plan to integrate ancient healing tools and techniques into clinical and evidence based therapeutic practices. Mental health matters and has the power to effect your inner and our world. Therapy, like yoga, is not a one size fits all approach. I love helping people discover new parts of themselves while empowering them to reach their own goals in their own unique approach. When I am not working or teaching, I love to spend time outside and move my body in different ways. I am a travel, culture, food, and tea lover.
I have a gongfu cha (tea made with skill) practice where I incorporate contemplations and mediations into serving tea. I studied under my tea teacher, Adrienne Etkin Nascimento. Making and drinking tea helps me transition through my day, always giving me a balance of energy, focus, and relaxation. Yoga and tea flow together and allow us to slow down while waking up different parts of ourselves.
